About the blog
About Enchanted Hue
The art of finding beauty and humor — a personal journal of natural dyeing, fiber arts, and photographic discoveries.
A platform for sharing artistic discoveries
Enchanted Hue is a personal journey through fiber arts and photography, written from the point of view of someone who notices small things: a plant that makes a lovely color, a mood board built around cobalt and silver, a photograph that turns out to be the best part of the day.
Posts here are shaped around experimentation. Dyeing with plant material is treated as an adventure rather than a set of rules, and the results are documented as they happen — hickory nuts, pickled silk, and other techniques written up in parts.
Regular series give the blog a rhythm: Monday Mood Boards, Wordless Wednesdays, and Friday Facets each ask a different question of the week.
What shapes the writing
Three threads run through most posts: material experiments, visual collecting, and the habit of looking twice.
01 · Material
Natural dyeing
Multi-part dyeing projects with plant materials, including hickory nut baths, documented alongside the everyday texture of the studio.
02 · Influence
Artists who inspire
Fiber artist India Flint is cited often as a touchstone — her approach to dyeing with anything found in nature, and her breathtaking fabrics. Her work was mentioned in connection with Gilda’s Boutique in Newton, MA.
03 · Community
Made by hand, seen on the street
Posts connect with the broader handmade and European street team communities, and with challenges and seasonal events such as the EST Weekly Challenge.
